September was full of sickness and October seems to be full of knee pain

I apologize for my absence.  This blog seems to really be picking up.  People are actually commenting!

Anyway, September, I was sick.  I haven't been that sick in years.  But that is off topic since this isn't a blog about what's wrong with me.  What's Wrong With Wes has a way better ring to it anyway.

I'm not doing a recap of September's sickness because the whole month would be blocked out.  When I said I was finally getting better, Wes was only "a little bit better", but when I mentioned him going back to the Dr, he said he was feeling 100% better than the day before so he thought he'd be out of the woods soon.

After the severe cold was lifted from our household, Wes started complaining about knee pain.  He even broke out the heating pad.  Knee pain has been my life for the last 3 days.

Contact issues

Wes left work early today because he's having "contact issues" and it caused him to have a "screaming headache".

He said he was 90% better with his upper respiratory infection problems he' s been dealing with for the last 3 weeks.

So now the entertaining illnesses like "contact issues" can commence!

Is this a competition?

So Wes is STILL sick....yes we are heading to the end of week 3 of this same illness. Our kids are getting over it too. The only one who has dodged it all has been me....until now.

I woke up this morning with a sore throat which I originally chalked up to the dryness of the air but it hasn't gone away.

Wes keeps asking me what's wrong and I keep saying "I don't feel good." And he keeps saying "I don't feel good either" and then proceeds to tell me how awful he feels.

I finally asked "Is this a competition for who's the sickest?" He said "No, I was just letting you know I know what it feels like."

Uh, thanks.

Another early day for Wes

Wes left work early again.  Our kids' swim lessons start tonight.  Fortunately (?), one of the kids is sick too so at least it evens out that one of the kids won't have to miss out on swim lessons because of Wes.

My house is turning into a plague nest.

Our kids are sick

Both of our kids woke up sick this morning.  I think just a cold so nothing super gross.  The babysitter was still willing to watch them.  So I called Wes on my way to work to tell him.  His response?  "Well, I'm really sick."  Thanks, Wes.  Thanks.

Home sick from work

Wes went home sick from work.  I guess he now has a sinus headache and couldn't think straight.

I have a strong suspicion that I'll get home and he'll have a PS4 controller in his hand since the new Destiny expansion came out.

Anyone want to take bets on whether or not Wes calls in sick or comes home early tomorrow on the day that every single Destiny player is finding an excuse not to go to work?

Insomnia

Now, Wes has insomnia and "it must be a side effect from his medicine." It, of course, has nothing to do with him sleeping 20 hours a day every day since Friday.

Don't worry, folks

Wes is still feeling awful. He said he's feeling better but still feels awful and is exhausted.

Ugh!

So now that Wes is on "real" medicine, he's been coughing all night. Wes told me last night that the Dr told him he needed to get a lot of rest and should be feeling better by Monday.

Just in time for me to go back to work.

Thanks, doc.

He's actually sick

Dr confirmed he has a severe respiratory infection. He's now waiting for meds from the pharmacy.

Home

Home from vacation. Wes still "feels awful". Since he's now been taking cold medicine for a week, I told him he needs to make an appointment for tomorrow to make sure it's nothing worse than a cold.

The walk-in Dr is available until 8 though so I might push him out the door to go now.

Still sick on vacation

Wes still has a cold and his head is still "killing" him. At least we are only 4 hours from home and will be there tomorrow.

Still sick on vacation

Wes still feels awful. Today his sore throat is extremely obvious though. I'll actually feel semi sorry for him because he is actually taking cold medicine to try to suppress his symptoms.

Vacation blues

Wes is "exhausted" even though I drove the entire 12 hour trip over the two days. He at least stayed awake 99% of the time.

But today, he's got a sore throat and a headache and his neck hurts. It's a trifecta of pain!

Vacation

Wes and I both slept horribly on our first night of vacation. We just don't do well sleeping in the same room as our children.

Anyway, we have to start the next leg of our trip early in the morning.

Wes got 3 hours of downtime where he took a nap because of his horrible headache. He swears he only slept 45 minutes max.

I spent the next moments of downtime loading up the car and inventorying our stuff to make sure we didn't leave anything behind.

Priorities.

It's Tuesday so you know what that means.....

.....Wes is sick.

Currently, no diagnosis.  Just what little info sent in a text:

"Laying down feeling a bit sick."

So we'll see if a "bit" sick takes a turn for the worse later.

August Recap!

So, here is just something I slapped together in Word.  Keep in mind, I started this blog on August 7th so the complete month isn't accounted for.  I blocked off all the dates that something was wrong with Wes.

What wasn't wrong with Wes?

Today, I got to hear about how much his head hurt, his knee hurt, and his neck hurt.  All were "killing" him of course.

Oh, yeah, and he thinks he has carpal tunnel.  That's a new one.

Left eye and finger

Wes needs to go to bed at a reasonable time tonight because his left eye is pounding and he ripped his fingernail off so now his finger is throbbing too.

He still managed to run errands after I got home from work.

Left the Gin Blossoms for a "terrible headache"

The Gin Blossoms were doing a free concert and we had to leave because of Wes's "terrible headache".

At least we beat the crowd?

Early to bed.....two nights in a row!

Wes had to go register his son for school in one of the worst middle schools in the state.  His son was supposed to be going to one of the best but the TLDR version is he can't now.

Wes said the thought of registering his son to go to this awful school had his "stomach rolling" and he had a migraine.  He also said he didn't sleep well the night before (when he went to bed early) so he was exhausted too.

So when he got home and ate dinner, he went to bed.  I did guilt him into putting the leftovers away so I guess there's that.

"Exhausted"

It's 5 till 7pm and Wes just went to bed. He's "exhausted" and had a "hell of a day" at work.

I should give him my on-call pager that has gone off once an hour most nights for the past month and then ask him who has a hell of a day.

No, I'm not bitter.

Foreshadowing text?

Just got a text: "Think I'm getting sick sneezing like crazy and a runny nose my head is pounding"

Stay turned.....

Allergic to giving baths?

So once again I'm giving the boys a bath by myself because Wes's stomach hurts. This seems to be a common occurrence lately. Time to see a doctor for stomach issues?

It's hard to post here on the weekends

The only story from the weekend is that we decided to order pizza on Saturday night and our youngest isn't old enough to eat dinner without assistance so even though I was the furthest one from our youngest, Wes was done eating and I hadn't even started eating yet, Wes got up from the table and said he couldn't sit there anymore because his back was "killing" him and he went and sat on the couch.  So I had to hold off on my meal to move seats and help my youngest tear up his pizza so he could eat it.

Uneventful weekend otherwise.

At least the TV stand is built

We got a new TV stand since our old one was a death trap waiting to happen. And, of course, my kids are obsessed with it. I wanted it built ASAP but Wes's knee is "killing" him tonight so getting our stand built tonight was looking bleak.

Luckily, Wes sucked it up and helped me build it and we even got the old one out to the curb.

Woot!

He's usually not so vague

Wes went to bed about 45 minutes early last night.  He said he didn't feel good, but didn't elaborate and tell me about every pop and crack and ache in his body so I'm going to call that a win.

One of the boys fell asleep early too so at least Wes going to bed early didn't stop him from having to put one kid to bed.

Saved by the trip

I had to take my brother to the airport yesterday and since I was 3 hours away from home, I decided to check out some stores in the area after dropping my brother off.

Late yesterday afternoon, I got a text from Wes asking if I knew when I'd be home.  I said I was almost ready to head back but that I was going to stop and eat somewhere for dinner so it might be a while.  He said he hadn't been feeling well all day and that his stomach hurt.  I'm SURE that would've led to an early bedtime for Wes if I had been home.

He did ask how my ear was though (it's MUCH better by the way...Flonase, Sudafed and Neti Pot to the rescue!)

Karma

So I think starting this blog might've sent bad karma vibes my way.  I had to go see a Dr today because I can barely hear out of my right ear and it's been like this for 2 days.  It's almost like swimmer's ear without the water sound and none of the free advice Dr. Google gave was helping.

Anyway, apparently, I have an allergy to pollen and so allergies are causing the pressure and blockage in my ear.

On Sudafed and  Flonase for now.

No complaints from Wes today.....yet.

Family reunions are exhausting.....

....and give you "terrible headaches" apparently.

So true though. Family reunion yesterday. Today? I slept until 11:30 am and Wes went to bed at 6pm for the night.

That didn't take long

Tonight the boys needed a bath. Wes couldn't do it because his knee was "killing" him!

I'm going to give him a slight pass tonight because I did have 6 wasps attack me when I took the recycling out (suffered one minor sting on the forehead) and Wes came and found the nest that was hidding under the lip of our recycling container and killed it.

He only gets a slight pass because taking out the trash/recycling is a "man's job" so I shouldn't have been put in the position to be attacked by those wasps in the first place. ;)

What's Wrong With Wes (W4)

A co-worker of mine said I should start a blog and write in it every time my husband, Wes, complains about some ailment that is bothering him.

It might be fun reading (for others) about every time I have to hear my husband complain about the following:

His Knee
His Head
His Shoulder
His Stomach
His Neck

I'm sure I missed something, but these things don't just bother him, they are "KILLING" him.

He's also "exhausted" when he's not complaining about one of the above body parts.  So I'll probably let you in on how many times I have to hear about that.

Maybe I can make a tally scoreboard thing to see which ailment "wins".
